If someone tried to describe the ideal conditions for the sport, the weather that prevailed on the first September weekend in Jarocin would be far from it. The aura encouraged rather than exercise, but that didn't stop the best STIHL TIMBERSPORTS athletes in Poland from putting on a great show.
The competition in Jarocin was at the highest level, although the competitors needed a while to get going. It was as if the scorching sun made them a bit lazy. But once they jumped into gear, they broke life records one after another. One of them, Krystian Kaczmarek, made an national record in the Single Buck with 11,22 seconds!
Everything played out in the last run, in which the best competitors in Poland at the moment - Michal Dubicki and Szymon Groenwald - faced each other. Before the last competition they were separated by only 5 points, so it was clear that the winner of this run, would become the Polish champion.
And here cold blood and experience won out. Dubicki easily fired his saw and cut off three pucks in a time of 6.42 seconds. Groenwald failed to start the machine the first time, and later crossed the line, was disqualified and dropped from first place to third.
- I'm happy that I managed to defend the title. It wasn't easy, the level of the competition is increasing every year, so I'm even more happy that I'm still keeping up – said a happy, and tired Dubicki. - The weather didn't help us either, after all we were competing in temperatures above 30 degrees. It's hard to stand in the sun in such conditions, and we were still cutting wood – added the Polish champion.
